Extensions: Extensions will only be granted in unusual and verifiable circumstances. Missing an exam is especially problematic, so let’s try to avoid that if we can.

Letter Grade and Percentage Equivalencies: My marking follows the University’s established grading guidelines, which are as follows: A+ 90-100, A 85-89, A- 80-84, B+ 75-79, B 70-74, B- 65-69, C+ 60-64, C 55-59, D 50-54, F 0-49.

Policy on Absences: I do not take attendance, but the exams and what you will need to be able to do for the assignments will depend upon your having regularly attended the class. Attending = good; absences = bad.

Information Technology: There is a course web page at ghostprof.org. Please check it for online copies of this syllabus and related information, as well as digital resources, links to online articles, and other fun stuff.

Plagiarism: Any incident of plagiarism will result in a zero for the course. In brief, plagiarism is the unacknowledged use of another person’s words or ideas, whether directly quoted or paraphrased, as though they were your own. The guidelines on what constitutes plagiarism are very clear and are available through a variety of sources, including the University Calendar. If you cheat on any of the tests you will receive a zero for the course and not be allowed any make-up options.
